Challange, what good things happened to you on a bad day?
Here is mine....
Today has been "something."
First bright sides,
- I was wearing my contacts before it happened so my glasses didn't break.
-my boss and co workers remembered me on administration assistant / secretary day. They bought me a gift card and gave me a gift card.
-middle son is paying for my injury repair if it cost more than is in the budget and won't let me pay him back until we can afford to do so
-people at work seem to care about me and kept checking on me after the injury
What happened? The bad part?
I fell face forward on the brick pavement in front of doors at work slightly off to one side chipping the bottom left one of my front teeth, spraining my left wrist, busting my top lip, and bruising a knee.
Good news, I have a appointment with a dentist on Friday.

Omg that’s horrible! I’m glad you didn’t get hurt more than you did. And I love your attitude! You’re still alive
I always say that if “fill in the blank” is the worst thing that happened to me today, I should consider myself lucky because while whatever bad thing was happening to me someone else was taking their last breath. Seriously.
It’s funny in a not so funny way that as we get older, we get more hurt when we fall. Kids, they bounce right back up even though they take a nasty fall. Me not so much. The last time I took a spill I cracked two ribs. And look at what happened to kelly clarkson. I feel awful for her.
You’ve got a good son too. Actually all of your kids turned out right. You’re a good mama.
Are you ok to go to work tomorrow?

Thanks. I like your attitude too!
In a perfect world, I would of been able to go home after getting hurt today. I toughed through the day though.
The price of a emergency cosmetic dentist would be in insane verses waiting til Friday to see my dentist.
A co- worker told me to do the bare minimum today. It hurts to talk with my top lip being swollen and I do intercom announcements, answer phones and greet people. I waved at people coming in verses talk as much as I normally do. My left wrist is strained or sprained.
I soaked in hot epison salt water tonight.
Ready or not, I am going back to work tomorrow. Right now though, so not ready.....
My black dressy shirt will help hide the the appearance of the bruising and swelling on my upper lip. Plus, wearing my elephant necklace with the trunk up for good luck.

Good news! It is Friday evening / wee hours of Saturday morning .....
Dentist fixed the chip in one of my top front teeth! It doesn't hurt anymore. The tooth had a rough edge on it after falling on the brick path
A friend a work gave me their old cell phone as well! I can call and text again!

Glad to hear you're Ok! The tooth sounded like the worst of it, hopefully the rest will heal well.
My youngest just had teeth pulled (for the third time - she's got a weird situation with her teeth that my three older children did not - she's got a team of three dentists, two of which I've know for many years). Right after she had them pulled, we HAD to drive to the optometrist (25 minutes the wrong direction from home) to get her new glasses. She INSISTED on it! (mmm mmmmm mmmm mmm mmm mmmmm!!!!!!!). She was dripping blood out of her mouth as they adjusted her frames. She couldn't have been more excited to get them. I'm not sure when this happened but apparently glasses are the hottest trend now, lol.
Then two days after, she insisted she needed the following soft food - jello, carmel flan, chocolate milk, and vanilla ice cream. I told her that this stops after the weekend, but other than need the occasional dose of Children's Motrin, she's loving it for now, lol.

Thanks Melody. I wore ear plugs in the office to block out the dentist office sounds and it helped. Cringe, the sound of the explorer tool, power saw and regular type file..... Yet, I could feel the vibrations and little of the sounds even with ear plugs. They didn't even numb me so I could go back to work afterwards.
It is surprising that your youngest daughter was so excited to go get her glasses. True, the styles are better than they were in the past though! I do like my current glasses and consider wearing them on non contacts days as a comfort thing.
She has a wonderful mom and she sounds like a brave person! I bet she looks beautiful in her new glasses.

Thank you Hiddengem! A number of friends asked me to post on FB, and loved the photo.
My two younger children crack me up. YDD is an old soul, with old lady tastes (she loves to knit too). She and YDS try to "out nerd" each other. YDS just skipped off to the bus with a new pocket protector - explaining that they will be providing protracters for the state math test.

A lot has gone wrong here lately. I just keep telling myself (and to be honest singing) the “I will survive “ song. Or any Stevie Wonder song. Things only look bleak until you take your blinders off, then you have light.

Sorry Irishlass. May I recomend Roberta Flack. Heard some stories -NICE lady!
Re: Challange, what good things happened to you on a bad day
Yesterday I made some mixed beans, I cooked them all day so that was nice... well at least until I went to go eat them, I slid on the kitchen floor and spilled the beans.
Jokes aside, it really hurt, I scraped and bruised my leg. I sorta just laid there and cried for a few minutes, not because of the pain though, but because of the crap I've had to endure lately.
As for today, thankfully the day is just starting for me.

Adam & Eve were the happiest, and the luckiest, couple in the world, because neither of them had to deal with in laws.

Re: Challange, what good things happened to you on a bad day
My days are both good and bad. I remember a time when I was months out of a job and felt very hopeless and sad.
One day, I peered out my window and noticed a young couple with a big moving truck across the street. It was getting dark and they looked awfully tired and hungry after having moved all day especially in the summer heat.
DH and I went across the street to introduce ourselves while we were walking our dog.
A few hours later, I sent DH with a big cardboard box filled with homemade dinners (2 casseroles), dessert, paper plates, paper bowls, napkins, disposable forks and spoons. The hot, sweaty couple couldn't believe it. The wife was so touched by our gesture, she cried! A few days later, they left a floral bouquet and a heartfelt thank you greeting card on our doorstep.
I had a bad unemployed day but I felt happy knowing our new neighbors felt welcomed and cared for.
After a jobless drought, I finally attained my new job. Even though I'm grateful for my new job, I remembered how my depressing day transformed into a joyous day due to making others feel happy and loved.

Jocelyn,
Congratulations on finding a job!
It was kind of you to take care of your neighbors!
